Some Random Observations from Our Day at the Mall

A little while ago, me, Emma, my grandma (who we call Nanny), and my mom went to the mall. Here are some pictures taken throughout the day! (my notes will be above the pictures. Descriptions are in the captions.)

I absolutely LOVE these earrings! Have you ever seen actual chandelier earrings???

My Flat in London Chandelier earrings from Brighton
This stuffed animal is SOO cute! I absolutely love him! I have always been a stuffed animal person, but as I've gotten older, I've stuck most of my animals into a big plastic bin and put it on a shelf. However, there are still a few that are on my bed- mostly because they won't fit into the box.:)

Boo, the cutest dog in the world stuffed toy
This bench was inside of a leather store. Can you believe that?!?!?! A LEATHER store! This sure makes me want to buy their merchandise!:P

Guess who is wearing these shoes-

And the correct answer is EMMA!!! They work wonders for her legs...!

Pose!

I looooove you!

This was the parking lot on the roof of the parking structure. It made Emma and I think of being celebrities, waiting to be picked up by our helicopters.:)

Bridal Shower

Today, we threw my sister a bridal shower. It was a ton of fun! The preparation for this shower has been going on for quite some time, and it feels kinda weird to have it all over in just a couple hours! This past weekend has been very busy, spending time getting ready for the shower- or, at least, that's how it's been spent for my mom and two of her friends!:) For me, I spent Friday cleaning the house and doing school, until about 4 pm or so. That was when my best friend McKenna came over. Then I got to hang out with her for the rest of the day!

Later on in the evening, Lauren (my sister who is getting married) and her fiance took McKenna, Emma, and I to dinner at this Vietnamese restaurant called Pho Ha- or something like that! I'll make a separate post about that experience. But after dinner, we dropped by the Cheesecake Factory and picked up some cheesecake to take home to the three ladies working on the shower- and also for us! Annnndddd my brother.

Anyways, when we got home, we ate the cheesecake. By that time, it was about 11:30 pm. McKenna and I wanted to watch a movie and do our nails, but when I asked my mom if we could watch a movie, she said that it was waaay too late. I was kinda upset at the time, but now I'm glad we didn't watch the movie, because I'm TIRED!!! But back to the story-

After I asked my mom about the movie, McKenna wanted to have her hair curled for the shower the next day, so I decided to try out this pin curl tutorial I found on Pinterest, instead of having her get up earlier to curl her hair with an iron. But right about at the third curl I was making in McKenna's hair, my mom yelled up the stairs, "Go to bed!" So you can guess what we did- I pulled out those pin curls, and finished my bed time prep. We went to bed around 12 am.

We woke up around 7 am. We got dressed in our nice dresses and skirts, loaded up the car, and drove to a family friend's house for the shower. We spent a while setting up for the shower, and setting out the food. After we were done with the prep, the guests started arriving! We played three games after we ate our lunch. One of the games we played was How Well Do You Know the Bride. There was a list of questions about the bride that you had to answer. The person with the most right answers won a prize- technically, I won, but I didn't need the prize, so another lady took the prize. Lauren's mother-in-law-to-be to be precise.:) She won a little stack of notepads with cute little sayings on them. I think the saying all together was Live long, laugh often, love much. Something like that!:)

Another game we played was a memory challenge. There was a garland that had a bunch of kitchen supplies on it, and you had to remember as many of the things on the garland as possible. I remembered 13 out of 15. But Lauren's friend remembered them all! Impressive! The last game we played lasted the entire shower. Every girl at the shower got one clothes pin and clipped it on herself. If you said the words "Michael" (the groom's name) or "wedding," and someone catches you, then you have to give up one of your pins. And if you catch other people saying those words, you take a pin from them. It was both fun, and annoying!:)

Here are some pictures from our day. Descriptions are in the captions.

The lizard set free- can you see him?:)
Funny story, there was this lace looking tablecloth that one of my mom's friend's bought to cover the tables with (obviously), and we had some of the tablecloth left over after we were done with it. So one of my mom's friends turned it into a wedding veil for the bride-to-be to wear during the party. And then the finishing touch was a flower from a present's wrapping. Here are the pictures!

Claim Jumper Photos

Today we went to Claim Jumper for my Grandpa's birthday. Here are some photos we took today.:)

Yo! Haha!:) Well, that's all for now! What did you do this weekend?

Wacky Thursday!

The other day (I think it was Thursday...), Emma and I got kinda goofy. Here are some photos from that day.:)

Emma in a box.

Me covered in Emma's stuffed animals (that belong in the box Emma was in).

Emma on the floor, surrounded by pillows.

Yeah, what you are about to see might disturb you....

Yep! A poodle dangling from the ceiling fan, with a "Poodles Be Warned" sign hanging with it. Creepy, right? Neither of my brothers will say that they did it, but I think it might be my brother Zach. I seriously have no idea anymore! So, that was basically my Thursday, besides doing some schoolwork and going to my mom's Bible study. And now it's the weekend! I'll show you some photos of this weekend in my next post.

Macaroni Grill Visit and Some Other Random Bits...

For the past couple days, Emma, my mom, and I have been eating out with my grandma. On Sunday, we went to the Macaroni Grill and our waiter, Eddie, wasn't a very good waiter. We had to constantly ask him for stuff, and he didn't ever come and refill our water jug. We were seated by one of those waiter sections, where they take their water jugs and tally up the bills. And since we were sitting there, I was able to slip over there and refill my cup of water. I have NEVER done that before! It was so weird for me! Oh! And another total bummer for me, was the fact that I dropped some marina sauce on my white jeans during lunch.:( SOOOOO annoying.

Anyways, here are some photos from my week. I really like this first one of my and my sister.

I hope you guys have a blessed week!

Black and White Outfit

Chic

This spring, the black and white combination is a huge trend. I would recommend wearing only black and white in your outfit, or just add one pop of color to your outfit. If you decide to wear only black and white, it gives this cool, minimalist effect. If you add a pop of color, add the color where you want to attract attention. Like, if you want to draw attention to your face, wear colorful earrings or a bright necklace. Or if you have a small waist, you could accent it with a belt (like in the outfit above). Do you like the black and white Spring 2013 trend? How would you wear this trend?

Easy Braided Bun Tutorial

Hey everybody! Just a couple of days ago, I did my hair in this cute bun hairstyle.

This look is super easy to re-create. I mean, if I can do it, you can too! Here is what you will need-
  • Headband (optional)
  • Bobby pins (NOT optional!;)
  • A cute hair bow elastic (optional)

Here is what you are going to do-
  1. Braid your whole head of hair into one big braid.(you might want to gather your hair into a ponytail and then braid the tail- it's up to you! I don't do that though.)
  2. Now you are going to wrap your braid into a bun and secure with bobby pins (see, the pins are SO not optional!;)
  3. Now it's time for accessories, to jazz up your bun! You can slide a cute elastic over your bun, to the base of the bun (like in the picture), you can put on a headband (I did, but I didn't get a picture. I just used the simple black one in the photo of the supplies.), or you can do both!
And that's it! My first time forming the bun on the day I did this, my bun was kinda lopsided. So I re-did it. It might take a couple of tries to get it straight, but you'll get it.:) Do you like doing your hair? If you have any fun tutorials, leave a comment below!
