Bridal Shower

Today, we threw my sister a bridal shower. It was a ton of fun! The preparation for this shower has been going on for quite some time, and it feels kinda weird to have it all over in just a couple hours! This past weekend has been very busy, spending time getting ready for the shower- or, at least, that's how it's been spent for my mom and two of her friends!:) For me, I spent Friday cleaning the house and doing school, until about 4 pm or so. That was when my best friend McKenna came over. Then I got to hang out with her for the rest of the day!

Later on in the evening, Lauren (my sister who is getting married) and her fiance took McKenna, Emma, and I to dinner at this Vietnamese restaurant called Pho Ha- or something like that! I'll make a separate post about that experience. But after dinner, we dropped by the Cheesecake Factory and picked up some cheesecake to take home to the three ladies working on the shower- and also for us! Annnndddd my brother.

Anyways, when we got home, we ate the cheesecake. By that time, it was about 11:30 pm. McKenna and I wanted to watch a movie and do our nails, but when I asked my mom if we could watch a movie, she said that it was waaay too late. I was kinda upset at the time, but now I'm glad we didn't watch the movie, because I'm TIRED!!! But back to the story-

After I asked my mom about the movie, McKenna wanted to have her hair curled for the shower the next day, so I decided to try out this pin curl tutorial I found on Pinterest, instead of having her get up earlier to curl her hair with an iron. But right about at the third curl I was making in McKenna's hair, my mom yelled up the stairs, "Go to bed!" So you can guess what we did- I pulled out those pin curls, and finished my bed time prep. We went to bed around 12 am.

We woke up around 7 am. We got dressed in our nice dresses and skirts, loaded up the car, and drove to a family friend's house for the shower. We spent a while setting up for the shower, and setting out the food. After we were done with the prep, the guests started arriving! We played three games after we ate our lunch. One of the games we played was How Well Do You Know the Bride. There was a list of questions about the bride that you had to answer. The person with the most right answers won a prize- technically, I won, but I didn't need the prize, so another lady took the prize. Lauren's mother-in-law-to-be to be precise.:) She won a little stack of notepads with cute little sayings on them. I think the saying all together was Live long, laugh often, love much. Something like that!:)

Another game we played was a memory challenge. There was a garland that had a bunch of kitchen supplies on it, and you had to remember as many of the things on the garland as possible. I remembered 13 out of 15. But Lauren's friend remembered them all! Impressive! The last game we played lasted the entire shower. Every girl at the shower got one clothes pin and clipped it on herself. If you said the words "Michael" (the groom's name) or "wedding," and someone catches you, then you have to give up one of your pins. And if you catch other people saying those words, you take a pin from them. It was both fun, and annoying!:)

Here are some pictures from our day. Descriptions are in the captions.

The lizard set free- can you see him?:)
Funny story, there was this lace looking tablecloth that one of my mom's friend's bought to cover the tables with (obviously), and we had some of the tablecloth left over after we were done with it. So one of my mom's friends turned it into a wedding veil for the bride-to-be to wear during the party. And then the finishing touch was a flower from a present's wrapping. Here are the pictures!
