My New Bridesmaid Dress

The good news is, my bridesmaid dress from Modcloth arrived! But the bad news is that when I tried it on, it fit ok, (just a bit big in the bust and a little too long straps) but the color of the dress was almost exactly the color of my skin! So, we're going to return that dress. But don't be too sad. I found a dress that I LOVE today, and I think it looks better than the peach dress from Modcloth.:) I now take you on my journey of putting together my bridesmaids outfit.

Modcloth Dress

We started out at Macy's. Oh, and by the way, we were shopping for my mom today, not me! But the whole day turned out to be about my dress. Sheesh! Anyways, we started at Macy's, and my mom found this dress for me (along with some other ones), and we hit the dressing room. I tried on this dress with the belt it came with, and went out to show my mom. We both loved it.:)

 

We bought the dress. Then we went wandering through the mall, trying to find my mom a dress. We came across Anthropology, and I wanted to go in and look at their teacups. (I have a love for tea and teacups, FYI.) So we popped into Anthropology and looked around. Then we found the belt. The belt. It is sparkly around the waist, and has a wooden clasp. The belt cost more than my dress! My belt was about forty dollars! But since I saved so much on my dress, I could afford it. Or rather, my dad could afford it. (he's paying for my outfit. Thanks dad!)

 

We bought the belt and went on, searching for my mom's dress (still!) and for a little pink shrug or jacket for my dress. I tried a few jackets, and during a lunch break, my mom suggested we look for a brown shrug instead. That's when I remembered that I already have a brown shrug! When we got home, I tried on the entire outfit: dress, belt, and shrug. When I put on the belt and dress, I was just praying, "God, please, when I put on this shrug, let it be magic!" And it was!!!

The whole experience was so fun! And I am so happy with the result. I still need to pick out some shoes and jewelry (I'm thinking a pink necklace and shoes), but I think my bridesmaids outfit is coming along. What do you think of my outfit?
